Bugzilla – Bug 16629
WiMP is missing from the SBS web interface
Last modified: 2011-01-28 01:01:54 UTC
Created attachment 7014 [details] WiMP is missing from My Apps Earlier there was a "WiMP" entry under "My Apps" in the SBS web interface. This entry is gone now, which makes it impossible to browse WiMP from the web interface anymore. WiMP is still accessible from my clients (SB Classic and SB Radio).
Working fine here. What SBS version is this? Is it missing all the time or a temporary issue? Anything in server.log?
Issue showed up for me after upgrading to 7.5.1, was working fine before then. Running on ubuntu maverick. Missing all the time, also after restarting the server. Cannot see anything suspicious in server.log. The plugin is configured to show on all the players' home screens.
Can you add --debug server.plugins to the startup parameters and see whether you get some more information about the plugin loading (at startup time)? What have you been running before 7.5.1? And the plugin is installed in SBS (check Settings/Plugins in the web UI)?
Created attachment 7015 [details] server.log with server.plugins set to debug I'm on SBS 7.5.1 - r30836 with WiMP plugin v1.1. There's not much of interest in the debug log, but I'm atttaching it nonetheless.
Ok, found the issue. This is 7.5.x only, correct?
Unfortunately I'm not sure we can fix this for 7.5.1. But we planned to release 7.5.2 pretty soon. Please note that this is an issue with the web UI in SBS only. All other UIs (on device, mysb.com web UI) still should work. Can you confirm this?
Yes, I can confirm that. And to your previous comment: Yes, only seen in 7.5.x.
(In reply to comment #7) > Yes, only seen in 7.5.x. where x < 2, correct? If you installed the 7.5.2 nightly build, you should be fine (it comes with the plugin, doesn't need to install it separately)
Created attachment 7017 [details] WiMP doesn't show in SBS in 7.5.2 either I installed 7.5.2 r31467 from http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.5 , but the problem is still there. WiMP shows up as it should in a player.
I got a "plugins have been updated - restart required" message in the SBS web interface at work, so I performed a restart. Now WiMP is available again in the web interface. This was on SBS 7.5.2 r31467. On my home server, running 7.5.1 r30836, I got the same message. But here WiMP didn't show up after a restart. So I upgraded SBS to 7.5.2 r31477, without success: WiMP still doesn't show up in the web interface. The problem seems different here: I get a "Plugin is incompatible with this version of Squeezebox Server. Please update". There are no updates available...
I copied the entire /Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/ from work (7.5.2 r31467) to home and restarted, but I still get "Plugin is incompatible with this version of Squeezebox Server. Please update". The plugins versions at work (which is functioning) and home (which is not) should be identical now. Are files installed somewhere else? I cannot find anything relating to the WiMP plugin in ~/Library/Application Support/Squeezebox/...
Sorry for the amounts of updates here. I just diffed the Squeezebox configurations in ~/Library/Application Support/ and found a significant difference. At home, the plugin/extension.prefs had a "WiMP: 1" entry under "plugin:". This was missing from the configuration at work. When I removed the entry and restarted the server, WiMP was available in the web interface again. Huzzah! Can you check if 7.5.2 (possibly with this fix) works for you as well, Eira?
After upgrading to 7.5.2~31488 Wimp is yet again working for me in the web interface. I do not have the Wimp:1 entry in extensions.prefs
After the latest update (7.5.2 - r31632) with WiMP plugin 1.2, WiMP has disappeared from the SBS web interface again.
(In reply to comment #14) > After the latest update (7.5.2 - r31632) with WiMP plugin 1.2, WiMP has > disappeared from the SBS web interface again. I see this too, same update. As before, it works directly from the player.
This should be fixed in 7.5.3 (due out in a few weeks), when the plugin will be included with the SBS distribution. This unfortunately didn't make it for 7.5.2, as that latter was a 7.5.1 plus some minor hotfixes only.
I just installed 7.5.3, and WiMP is available in the SBS menu again. (I had do enable "auto update plugins" to make it work)
