Description Kris Murphy 2010-10-12 09:47:42 UTC
The response time is very long when running on AT&T Edge network with a Nexus One, and most of the time nothing happens at all. I'll use the App to power down the device, and instead of the device turning off the app just updates a minute or so later to show the power back on again.

Will Eastman have better performance on the Edge network? If not, we should be sure to message to the customer that they may experience varying degrees of performance depending on the cell network and reception.

Is this really an issue? Do you want to controll your device while on the road?!?

Yes, I expect Eastman to perform better in slow networks: it will transfer raw data instead of HTML. It won't load all artwork at once, blocking any further http request until all images are loaded.

I was thinking more along the lines of someone who has no wireless network in their home and their squeezebox is connected by ethernet. A possible scenario, but not sure how likely it is.

Setting milestone to Eastman will recheck performance then.
