Bugzilla – Bug 16569
Stream Naming Functionality
Last modified: 2010-09-22 17:19:21 UTC
On mysqueezebox.com it allows you to name mp3 streams and save them to the favourites. This name then appears on the remote control (I'm using the Duet package). However, this feature is not available in Squeezebox Server, leading to the remote displaying an ugly URL in the favourites list, instead of a nice looking name. Would it be possible to either: 1. Allow for the stream name passed in the metadata to populate the name field and/or show in the Server software and on the remote; OR; 2. Allow for streams to be named on the server side, so that the remote displays a user-friendly name, instead of the URL. If this is already a feature, could someone point me in the direction of where it might be found? I can't seem to find it! Thanks for your time.
I've just worked out how to do it (in Edit mode), but I think this could be made easier, and/or allow someone to do it when they first add the favourite, or listen to the stream? Additionally, the fields in Edit mode don't appear to be labeled and as such I had to guess which field was for the title. It'd be nice to have the fields named.

In this comment I'm referring to the documentation for adding a stream found here: http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11943/session/L2F2LzEvc2lkLzNqN0l0SGFr Which I know is a little out of date (it seems the method has slightly changed), but still a little confusing.
