log of alarm failing after one minute

I am using my controller as an alarm clock to wake up to absolute radio on
mysqueezebox.com. Sometimes the alarm fades in correctly to the radio station
then after a minute sound stops abruptly and I hear a faded in announcement
telling me there is a problem with the stream. This is followed by the backup
alarm at a barely audible level. After an hour at this level (the alarm timeout
period) the volume of the backup alarm suddenly changes to a much higher (more
normal) volume and continues indefinitely I suspect. Even if there was a
problem with the stream this cannot be correct behaviour and why would the
stream stop after a minute? This also happens when using the alarm on the
receiver.

I have attached a log of the same event. The alarm goes off at 6.27 and the
radio station fades in. At 6.28 audio stops and the message from the station
about the problem with the stream fades in followed by fallback alarm at low
volume.

Similar Issue: Alarm starts, after one minute it stops and fades in again. After the alarm is done, the Boom goes to kind of standby but is not completely shut down. - The first time after a power-on the Boom works ok. Second time onwards the issue is there again.

Is this a dupe of bug 16545?

Since there has been some recent activity on this bug I can add some more observations. I now have a Radio which I use as an alarm. The alarm is set for 6.00am with a 60 minute timeout. Sequence of events as follows.

Yesterday
6.00 Radio station fades in
6.01 Fallback alarm sounds so I select "Turn off alarm" and select radio station manually
7.00 Radio turns off

Today
6.00 Radio station fades in
6.01 Radio stops then fades in again
7.00 Radio stops then fades in again
7.01 Radio stops then Fallback alarm fires and presumably plays indefinitely

On 28 January there was a server-side fix for bug16545 that I believe is also the fix for this issue.

Could anyone that experienced this issue confirm that it no longer is happening?

I got this from one of the support contacts

---------------
On the SqueezeBox radio:
If I set an alarm (let's say at 8h00) with one of the built-in sound (like "Waves"), the alarm start to play the "Wave" sound at 8h00 (OK), but 3 minutes later there is another alarm (another musical sound) starting to play instead. This one is also a lot louder.
How can I disable that second alarm sound?
--------------------

This is after the double alarm fix. It sounds like this is happening to him consistently. I looked at his player settings. It was not connected to MSB.com the Becoming the user the alarm is set normally with volume 2 and 9 min snooze and timeout off.

Ryan, are there firmware and server revisions available for that problem report?
Comment 7 Ben Klaas 2011-04-12 12:18:19 UTC
This is really a duplicate of three other bugs, including 16446

zarniwoop75, there have been 7.6 fixes on both server and client side to address the things you mention, both in this bug and in 16446.

I don't believe this to be a problem any more in 7.6. Reopen as needed, but I can't reproduce any of this behavior on 7.6 squeezeboxes.

Able to hear original alarm for several minutes without reverting to fallback

Created successive alarms and was able to snooze or turn-off both.
