Description liffy99 2010-08-31 02:01:38 UTC
It's too small to read at greater distances. Either produce a handheld remote that replicates the Touch screen display (a la Sonos) or provide some user options in the software.

For example;

1) Allow the user to chose how many lines of text to display - at the moment my Touch shows three lines of track information (before, current and next). I only really need the middle one.

2) Allow the user to disable the album art display (pointless at longer distances anyway).

These would then create more available space on the screen and permit the use of larger fonts.

I just want the sound quality and functionality of the Touch with the readability of the SB3 !

Oh, and please bring back the analogue VU meters screensaver !!!

some thoughts on this bug:

1) is a valid enhancement request

2) this is already possible. Settings->Screen->Now Playing->Now Playing Views, uncheck everything but Text Only.

Also, analog VU screensaver is available, provided you are using the Touch to control itself and not a different squeezebox. You should see it as an option under the menu mentioned in 2). To scroll through the views in NP, either touch the screen to cycle through them, or hit the Now Playing button with the IR remote when viewing the NP screen.

Since you mention readability of the SB3, I'd like to also suggest you change the device's wallpaper (Settings->Screen->Wallpaper) to Black, which will provide the greatest contrast.

I consider this fixed by the Controller App available for iOS and Android.

How does that fix a Touch interface problem?
