Description William H Constad MD 2010-08-30 04:36:26 UTC
There should be an easy way to turn off the Alarm, should the person wake up prior to it going off. I can think of two alternatives that might be programatically possible.
1. When the radio is in the 'soft' off condition - time displayed on the front display - and the alarm is set - with the alarm icon displayed - when one presses the alarm button on the front panel, the squeezebox would go to the Alarm screen.
or - even better and more direct.
2.When the squeezebox is in the same condition, pressing the alarm button would Toggle on/off the All Alarms Enabled State

May be a duplicate of bug 9510: "Allow upcoming alarm to be cancelled for just that day", although there's also a fairly significant difference between canceling just the upcoming alarm and disabling all alarms. Also, the user interface would likely be different for each Squeezebox model.

This is a major issue for anyone who uses the squeezebox as a clock radio, like myself, and is married. If I wake up before the alarm, I cannot read the little buttons, nor even the screen well - not your fault, but I am presbyopic (I need reading glasses). Right now, the only thing I can do is completely shut the unit down - which of course makes its muscial chimes on shut down. Should be a more elegant way to do this. It appears from looking at bug 9510 that this general suggestion has been around for awhile, Is there a wiring/hardware issue that is preventing the programming suggestions from working?
