Description Doug Frazee 2010-08-16 14:48:12 UTC
Request for an easy way to simultaneously turn off all SB players in a home.

Use Case: bed time or leaving the house

 - SB Server #1 connected SB Classic streaming Pandora
 - SB Server #2 connected SB Radio streaming local mp3 content
 - MySqueezebox connected BOOM streaming Radio Paradise

User picks up the Classic IR Remote, aims it at the SB Classic, presses and holds the power button for 2+ seconds. All players in the home respond by displaying/scrolling "ALL OFF ......... Goodbye!" then power-off.

If the above functionality is not reasonably possible, a 2nd best would be to at least be able to turn off all players connected to the same server. For the SB Radio, the 2+ second operation would be either with the optional IR remote or to the front panel power button, a similar user experience should be pursued to add this functionality to the Controller, BOOM, Touch, etc.

Richard Harris's Server Power Control plugin does exactly that.
