Description flo_ro 2010-08-01 01:52:15 UTC
Using latest nightly builds from end of july results in music from another volume linked into SQ-library not being able to accessed anymore.
My system with Squeezeserver is a QNAP T509Pro NAS with the shipped linux on it running SSOTS in most recent version. Link has been created directly in linux via Winscp. This linking worked in all version up till the 7.6er versions I lately tried. Downgrading the Squeezeserver to 7.5.2 makes everything work again perfect as before. Upgrading again (incl. completely new rebuilds of the library) also makes the functionality go defunct again.

Easiest way to check if it's working: use either Duet or Web-interface and try to change into the linked directory. It does shortly seem to want to go there (at least there is some reaction like a short "flicker" visible) but then just shows the contents of the directory the link is placed in. When pressing "back" it "remembers" though it has entered that directory...i.e. I try 3 times to go into linked directory, then with pressing back-button 4 times I end up all those times (plus one for getting there in the beginning) in the directory the link is placed in. When scanning I actually even think he could scan the directory...just cant go there later.

Is this still an issue?

Hi,

actually cant tell at the moment as due to this bug just reverted back to 7.5.x tree and been sticking with 7.5.3 in the end as it proved rock-solid for me. Will have to install a 7.6 version again to restest current state but not sure exactly when I'll be able to...perhaps I suceed in tryin out next weekend. But sadly cant fully promise.

I couldn't reproduce that with r33110.
I've created a mp3 directory outside of my music folder, created another directory into it, and dropped few MP3 files there.
I then have symlinked the mp3 directory in the music folder.
Everything works as expected, the scanner correctly analyses the files in the external mp3 directory, all appear then in my library.

Also tried BMF'ing the mp3 symlinked folder from with my Controller and couldn't see anything special when going back and forth the symlinked directories.

I forgot to say that the tests were made on my QNAP TS459 with (a somewhat modified) SSOTS 4.12.

Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.
