when playing a track the display is fine --> perfect
when I then navigate around in the menues and finally go back to the album where the currently played track is, I do not have any clue which track is played. there is no highlighting or anything in the list of the songs, showing which track is currently played.

I don't believe this has ever existed in any of the user interfaces.  Would it really be helpful?

The way to find out which track is playing in the current album is to go to the Current Playlist, accessible from the playlist icon in the top right corner of the Now Playing screen.
