Bugzilla – Bug 16356
7.6.0 r8937 Touch - reboots on crossfade
Last modified: 2011-04-20 09:37:56 UTC
SB Touch running SqueezePlay 7.6.0 r8937 will hard lock when attempting to crossfade. If watchdog is enabled, the device will reboot a short time later. Occurs after a factory reset, once crossfade is re-enabled. Occurs on mysqueezebox and local servers. Disabling crossfade stops crashes. Even with watchdog disabled, nothing is logged to messages, other than the normal stream start at 10 sec before the end of the current song, when crossfading should happen: Jul 11 15:02:36 squeezeplay: INFO audio.decode - decode_start_handler:277 init decoder mp3 Jul 11 15:02:37 squeezeplay: INFO audio.decode - Playback.lua:440 connect 192.168.0.11:9000 GET /stream.mp3?player=00:04:20:22:12:d7 HTTP/1.0^M this is making me think it's a kernel problem, not a squeezeplay problem.
I cannot get the Touch to crash but I cannot get crossfade to work at all with 7.6. I tried both TinySC and SbS running on Linux.

What kind of tracks (encoding) were being used when you got the crash?
Happens with AAC and MP3 tracks. I first noticed the bug when playing Slacker/Pandora. Those are 128K MP3, I think. I was wondering why the Touch would reboot after playing one song from either service... Then I realized crossfade was on. Verified reboot also occured with local tracks, and did not occur when crossfade was disabled.
This was fixed in r8974.
Verified fixed and will close
