From talking with Brandon, it sounds like playing of an internet radio stream also requires an SN connection. If the SN connection is somehow lost during the playing of a stream, then the stream stops playing even though the connection to the internet radio stream is not lost.

Sounds like this would increase the chances of stopping an internet radio stream.

Andy, is there a good reason for this design?  Is this something that could be improved?  It seems like it might help cut down on stream stoppage complaints.

No that should not happen.  If it does it's a bug in SqueezePlay.
