Description mc 2005-06-05 11:05:39 UTC
Although "Shuffle by Album" works, there is a major flaw in that it does not
always play back the songs in numerical order within an album. Some do, some do
not. I am unable to figure out the orgainizing principl which Slimserver uses to
interpret iTunes album info, but following the numerical order of tracks would
seem best, esap for classical music, since the order of ther movements is essential.
Thanks, Mark

Mark: Can you give an example of the behavior you are seeing? Also, it sounds like you are using
iTunes, is that right?

Actually, the problem was fixed when I rebuilt the iTunes library.

However, there is still a feature I have asked for some time ago and would still
like to see: the ability to skip an album.

As it is now, you can shuffle by song or by album (assuming you are using
playlists from iTunes). You can easily skip songs by pressing SKIP, but you
cannot skip albums. Is it possible to include a "Skip Album" on the slimserver
software?

Many thanks for a great product.
Mark

The ability to skip an album is filed as bug 460 and is still on active record
as a future enhancement. Since this specific error is solved, marking as fixed.
