Bugzilla – Bug 16313
Internet radio metadata (including artwork) not updated when program changes
Last modified: 2010-07-09 12:50:20 UTC
I've seen this in the past too, but I'm not sure if it was fixed and later regressed or if I'm just noticing it again due to a change in my listening habits. Most of my RT listening is one of the ESPN or NPR stations, so a typical program lasts about 30 minutes or up to about 3 or 4 hours. If I leave the RT stream going for a long time, sometimes the program logo and other metadata changes as expected when a new program starts, but usually the old info remains. The new metadata appears as expected on the mySB webUI and the Squeezecommander Android app, but the old data remains on an SB Radio and 2 SBCs controlling it. I can usually get the data to update by changing the volume on the Radio FP. Sometimes it will only update if I stop and restart the stream. I am seeing this now with WHYY FM (http://radiotime.com/station/s_29485/WHYY-FM_909.aspx) on a Radio connected to mySB. I have also seen it in the recent past on SbS 7.6 and with many ESPN or NPR stations.
Each time I plug in my Squeezebox Radio the six pre-sets show up on the screen as "NOTHING". The correct music does play on each pre-set. When I unplug the squeezebox radio and plug it in a second time all the album covers, station logos, etc show up correctly. In other words it takes two plug-ins to get it going correctly. It almost always works after the second plug in and it never forgets the correct presets. Tyler P. at Squeezebox support is working on this. Right, Tyler?
