I have been using Flicker as my screen saver for when the player is stopped and when the player is off. Since the update for 7.5.1 when stopped when the screen saver comes on it displays loading images between every photo with the Flicker icon. This used to happen only when the screensaver first came on.
When the player is in stopped mode (on but not playing) the flicker loading images only comes on at the beginning as expected.

Could you please enable debugging for applet.ImageViewer?

I can confirm the behaviour using SqueezeBox Server v7.5.1-r30836. I have seen the behaviour on the following clients:

Touch v7.5.1-r9009
SqueezePlay v7.6.0-r0

I believe that the issue is causing the screen-saver to restart or something of that nature:

If you set the Image Viewer to show images sequentially (rather than random) you will see that the same picture is repeatedly displayed each time after "Loading..." is displayed. I.e. the screen-saver has started from the beginning.

The problem only occurs when the player is off - when it is stopped everything works fine.

I will see if I can get the debugging info you have requested for applet.ImageViewer.

Log file showing image viewer failure

Sorry, I had to use ProcMon to find the pesky log output for SqueezePlay! Found it in the end :)

I have set both applet.ImageViewer and applet.ScreenSavers to Debug output for good measure - please see the attached log where it goes through several cycles of the failure.

I could also get the logs for my Touch although I suspect it will show the same.

video of the loading image

This seems to happen when there is either more network traffic (at Work) or lower bandwidth (all the time at home)

Music service error message

After the image viewer displays the loading screen between images for awhile it will eventually shut down with an error message "Local music service has been stopped due to a problem" when you select OK the unit returns to the Home menu. not the "off" state where it was when displaying the Flicker images.
