Description Ryan 2010-06-16 08:16:10 UTC
7.5.1 fw 8837
With the alarm set for natural sounds. Internet access was interupted by my IP. The backup alarm came on at the correct time as expected but there was no way to turn it off, no menu item on screen to either turn off the alarm or snooze it. I then tryed to just turn the unit off (sleep mode) and the alarm came on again after several seconds. Then tryed to go to the alarm settings and disable the alarm, but instead of gettting the alarm settings the now playing screen poped up.

Finally I just unplugged the unit. After resetting my DSL modem and restoring internet access. I was able to turn the touch back on and navigate to the alarm settings okay.

this is shocking to me, as I fixed this exact bug in 7.5.1 and thoroughly tested it, including this environment (test cases 2a/2b in Squeezeplay Alarm Testing EVT)

assigning initially to QA for a clear indication of whether this can be reproduced every time and if there are particular steps to get into this state.

So one additional bit of input I figured out from trying to replicate this this morning. So last night when this happened, my wife had the first interaction when the alarm went off. I have figured out that on the initial pop up screen where you can select snooze or turn off alarm there is also an X in the upper right which she must have pressed. If you push the X the ability to turn off or, snooze the alarm goes away.

Verifying the second part about not being able to access the alarm setting, I setup a unit wired and unplugged it for the experiment I got a cant detect wired connection message which is a different than the condition last night where the unit was connected wireless and the wireless was up but internet was not working from the IP end.

Ryan, is this a dup of bug 15901?
Comment 5 Ryan 2010-10-29 09:05:19 UTC
this is not a dup it just a problem that if you close the alarm dialog box by pressing the X you then cannot get back to a dialog that lets you turn off the alarm.
