Description Mickey Gee 2010-06-14 08:47:02 UTC
I was told that our Radio started to have intermittent problems with streams from various sources (Mediafly, etc.) failing. I was also told it doesn't happen with Boom. I hadn't experienced it myself until yesterday.

What I saw when I was playing flac tracks, with debug enabled to show buffer percentages on the screen, was that the left percentage was going down to zero and then the track would stop playing -- usually somewhere in the middle of a track. A "Rebuffering Failed" (or some similar message) would pop-up in the middle of the screen. A few seconds later, the music would restart at the beginning of the track.

Once I noticed that the Flickr: Interesting Photos were enabled, I turned them off. I haven't noticed the rebuffering failure again. ("Flickr: Interesting Photos" for Settings->Screensavers->When playing.)

Using Radio with firmware 7.5.1 r8837 and running some 7.5.1 version of Squeezebox Server. Don't know if this happens with other firmware or with Touch.

Of course, seen running Radio on battery only and wireless networking. Didn't try with wired networking.
