Bugzilla – Bug 16268
Progress dot disappears and reappears on Now Playing screen
Last modified: 2013-05-01 08:33:22 UTC
While playing a Deezer Top Charts playlist, the progress dot on Now Playing will sometimes not be shown. It will not be shown typically for the whole track, and seems to disappear upon track transitions -- it will be there for the end of a track, and when the next track starts it's not there. It will reappear on track transitions -- the track ends and it's not seen, and when the new track starts it reappears. Here's how I can repro reliably: Go to Deezer->My Music->Top Charts->France and press the Play button on the first track. The progress dot will not be seen. Turn the volume knob up, and the volume pop-up appears. When the pop-up disappears, Now Playing will have the progress dot. Running with firmware 7.5.1 r8826.
IMO this is not a bug, but Squeezeplay doing what it thinks is correct based on the metadata in the file. If the file has no duration, then it won't have a progress bar. If it does have duration, it will. My hunch is that Deezer is not sending this metadata reliably nor consistently (incidentally, the behavior your are seeing is what exposed the bug fixed earlier this week with the control buttons not working on certain Deezer tracks)
