Description Dan Richardson 2010-04-28 16:29:41 UTC
Summary:

In stopwatch testing, the acceleration of the volume control speed is roughly half of what it was on the SB2/3 hardware I have. From a usability perspective, it was very disappointing when I received my new Touch and found that out. If I wasn't a hacker, I wouldn't have been able to change the speed.

This patch also changes the remote repeat key speed (desired for me), equivalent to speeding up your keyboard repeat rate close to max in your desktop OS.
Solution:
Documented in this forum thread, with patch provided.

Been using 7.5.1 nightlies on Touch hardware
Server software is Version: 7.5.1 - r30670 @ Tue Apr 20 01:08:43 PDT 2010

Note:
It appears that there's a fine-line between speed and overshooting/remote lag between the remote->IR->touch->server->back to touch->change volume. My test scenario is over wireless with good signal and appears robust. Might degrade with marginal signal, untested.
