Bugzilla – Bug 16141
Napster playlists empty after library rescan
Last modified: 2011-05-23 09:37:12 UTC
I rescanned my library, and playlists that include either only napster songs or napster and my own library songs have lost the ability to play any napster songs. The m3u files still exist and have the proper listed songs, but they don't show up on the squeezebox server playlist as anything (they show up empty).
Same behavior here although I don't remember actually doing a rescan before this happened. I set up a couple playlists two nights ago with Napster songs and then when I tried them this afternoon they don't work. I didn't do a manual rescan although it's possible an automatic rescan kicked off. M3U files look unchanged - they just bring up an empty playlist when you try and play them... 7.5.0 on Windows 7.
I think this one is related to 16188
Probably a duplicate of Bug 6721 as well (most of them were fixed except Napster?)
spedlists, good catch. See bug 16188 for a patch that I believe will fix both bug 16188 and bug 16141.
(In reply to comment #4) > spedlists, good catch. See bug 16188 for a patch that I believe will fix both > bug 16188 and bug 16141. How do I use this patch to solve the problem? Rene
Rene, are you using Windows, MacOS, Linux? In MacOS or Linux, you can patch the Perl source code and change and fix this bug, but Squeezebox Server for Windows is a compiled executable so it's much more complicated to patch a Windows install -- this wiki article should give you an idea what's involved in running a patched version on Windows: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/InstallSVNTrunkAsService
spedlists, a few days ago Triode committed a fix to the SBS 7.6 code in response to bug 16188, so you might try a recent 7.6 nightly build and see if it works for you, too. I just made a simple playlist with one Napster URL and one of my custom handlers URLs, and both survived a library rescan. Rene, I think I saw that you got the email from my comment on 16188, so you already know this. :-)
