Hello,

I have the following problem - I can very easily recreate it on Squeezebox Radio but believe I have also seen it on my new Squeezebox Touch.

Initially observed when listening to Pandora, every hour or two music would stop and I would look at Squeezeplay and then the Squeezebox Radio itself and notice the track indicated it has 60 minutes left to go/counting down. I never actually waited 60 minutes to see if it would pick back up - hitting the NEXT button to skip the track would work and the music would pick right back up. I figured this might be a Pandora problem at that time, per the following thread on the Forum where another fellow reported this same issue:

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77456

That said, I have since seen this same issue while listening to My Music off of my local server. This is very easy for me to recreate with Tool's Undertow album because there are 10 "normal" WMA 192 tracks and then 58 tracks that are 1 second long silence before getting to the 69th track which is another song. It invariably stops on at least one of these 1 second tracks as it tries to play through them and turns it into 60 minutes.

My configuration is as follows:

Windows 7 Netbook running Squeezeplay controlling the Squeezebox Server on a Desktop PC running Windows Vista. Squeezebox Radio is connected to Wireless-G network which the Squeezebox Server/Desktop PC is hardwired into (Via Router).

I work from home so I will be around - please let me know if there are any specific log file names I can upload or if you would like a screenshot of Squeezeplay, or if it is legal if I can temporarily upload some of the tracks in question (it seems to vary which one fails though as if it isn't track specific).

Thank you,

-Dan

Just wanted to add the following data - I have seen this on my Touch and the other fellow reporting this symptom also saw it on touch. It is just easier for me to recreate on the Radio because I use it more often.

Saw a new thread in another forum that looks like this same problem to me:

I can see this on 7.5.0 with a TouchServer/tinySC.

tinySC is streaming FLAC to itself, a Radio and reciever sync'd. and struggling to cope: see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77749

The track finished/stopped but showed 9 minutes elapsed and 52 to go!. I left it running and returned with 5 minutes to go but no music started. It now remains on the same track now showing elapsed 1:11:25 and remaining -51.11, i.e. another hour has been added!

The original track length is 2.37.

same thing using Napster.... ;.((
Comment 8 Chris Owens 2010-05-10 09:24:25 UTC
QA to investigate the Pandora side of this. The 1-second-tracks bug seems like a separate issue but we can leave it in here for now.

My investigation so far makes me think that rather than the incorrect time causes the music to stop, that there are other problems that cause the music to stop, and then a bug causes the incorrect time display, but I will continue looking at it.
