Bugzilla – Bug 16012
Power button does not shut off the Boom when Alarm is playing, it just stops the alarm.
Last modified: 2011-01-14 00:51:24 UTC
My boom runs for 75 minutes in the morning, playing music, when the alarm goes off. At some point I just want to shut the music and boom off and continue on with my day, so I press the power button. Unfortunately, that just stops the alarm, I then have to hit power a 2nd time to turn it off. Seems to me that it should just shut off if I press the power button, and stop if I press other buttons. Recreate steps: 1. Set an alarm 2. Wait for the alarm to kick on (music is playing) 3. Press the power button on the Boom Expected result: The alarm stops, and the Boom powers down Actual result: The alarm stops and the Boom cycles on (Logitech logo shows up) and kicks you out to the main menus.
I can confirm this behaviour on the Radio. On the 7.5.0 firmware 'power off' canceled the alarm and put the Radio into soft-power off. Now on 7.5.1 it doesn't turn off the radio the works as pressing the 'pause' button.

QA to provide repro instructions; Ben cannot repro. Also, QA to split this bug into Radio and Boom versions since the code is completely different.
For Squeezebox Radio, i have created a second bug: https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16325
Vincent, are you seeing this problem on the Boom or the SB Radio? Chris, are you connected to Mysqueezebox.com or to a local server? At first look, I can't reproduce this issue. Thanks for any additional information!
I see this connected to my local server running the beta of 7.5.2. The Boom comes on in the morning at 7:15 AM (set to run for 90 minutes), tuned to a radio stream. I press the physical power button on the boom around 8 AM and the radio stream stops playing, but the Boom stays on. If, I got to the web control panel and press the power button there, it shuts the boom off.
I was having issues with the Radio requiring two presses of the button. Running 7.5.1 on local SBS. Last night I had to do a complete shutdown as I could get no sound. Restarted the unit and this morning one press of the power button turned off the alarm and put the unit into the off mode. So working correctly.
