Description snarlydwarf 2010-04-06 20:17:54 UTC
This zip contains two files (actually Igneous Ejaculation by Naked City twice, if you care).

the second file contains a deliberate error in the album name.

Extract the two mp3's somewhere, SBS will see them and scan them: it wil (rightly, since the album tags are in error) think they are two albums.

Execute the following or equivalent:
   eyeD3 --album "Album One" "2 track.mp3"

This will correct the typo'd album name and make the two album names the same.

The two albums, however, will NOT be merged together as if they were created at the same time. They will remain two albums, although they now both have the same name and the files are in the same directory.

This differs from the result if they were loaded via a clear-scan, which is the only way to re-merge them into a single album.

I have verified this is fixed in r32464.

Using the same .mp3s that are attached, scanned them into SBS, and had 2 albums listed. Ran the eyeD3 command line and rescanned library.

Under albums, only 1 is listed and it contains the two .mps.

Going to close.
