Bugzilla – Bug 15987
'ignoredarticles' ignores the entire album if article is 'a'
Last modified: 2011-05-12 13:56:29 UTC
So I was looking at my album lists and noticed all these annoyingly mis-sorted albums like 'A Day at the Races', which should be sorted under D not A. I added 'A' to the list of ignored articles, which started a rescan (which completed insanely fast... like under 5 minutes with 33k tracks... yowza that is nice!)... And 'A Day at the Races' vanished from the A page as I hoped... but it did not appear on the D page either. It (and A Night at the Opera) do both appear on the Queen artist page... Peter Hammill's "A Black Box" isn't under the B's, but does show up on his page.

Hrrm they just appeared under the A page... maybe the scan was still going on, but the A is not being stripped. Will have to look at this more, but something is amiss.
I'm unable to reproduce this (on Windows). I have a ~60 album test FLAC library, and placed 'A Day at the Races' in the library and made sure there were no ALBUMSORT tags in the files. After adding 'A' to the articles to ignore and rescanning, the album is correctly sorted at 'DA...'
bah. never mind it's the strange behavior of the scanner that never finishes scanning. (The internal scanner works, the external one, used, for example, in scheduled rescans never ends...) Touching the files, forcing an internal rescan makes them work correctly.
Closing to due resolved.
