Description Mickey Gee 2010-03-31 15:28:14 UTC
Runing r8672 with Touch and TinySC. Have WD 1.5 TB hard drive as music library playing MP3 tracks on Touch itself. SD card has approximately 1000 JPEG photos which I shrunk myself using Windows software.

I set Image Viewer to display at all times -- even while playing. When I do this, eventually (maybe 30 minutes?) I'll see the screen "Local music server stopped" screen.

I've done this twice and seen it twice. I've not noticed it soon enough to be able to get a message log file with meaningful information. When I do, I'll post it here.

Log confirms it is out of memory. Wasn't able to catch right before so I don't have memory usage before crash.

My guess is that image viewer and TinySC are mutually exclusive. It may work some of the time but we do not have sufficient control of memory usage to be able to expect both to work at the same time in general.

I wouldn't say ImageViewer and SBS are mutually exclusive. They've been working fine for me most of the time. But it really depends on the images to be shown: I've been running IV without a hiccup on 14MP images taken directly from my camera, while it would fail on much smaller images if they were saved as progressive JPGs. It really depends on the file. I'd expect problems with high resolution bmp/png/gifs too.

Mickey - I see the last two pictures are these:
/media/mmcblk0p1/Snow Feb 2009 Photo 087.jpg
/media/mmcblk0p1/Snow Feb 2009 Photo 617.jpg

Would you mind uploading them? What resolution are they, and what software did you use to resize them? Would you see the same crash if you were using the original files?

This is a dupe of bug 15945.

Mickey - let's please continue on the other bug, as there are already sample images and some more findings. Thanks!

I'll attach your log file to bug 15945
