Bugzilla – Bug 15954
Second retry always needed to eject 16GB SD card
Last modified: 2019-01-25 10:11:21 UTC
With Fab4/TinySC, I'm testing with MP3 tracks on a 16GB SD card and firmware r8665. I always need a second retry of ejecting the SD card. The second try always works, but the first one never does. I don't remember whether I stop TinySC before ejecting the SD card. Message log enclosed showing first eject failure and second attempt OK.
Created attachment 6706 [details] Message log file Log includes crash log from previous. Crash log was generated when I accidentally bumped the Fab4 during TinySC scan of SD card and it loosened the power plug.
(In reply to comment #1) > Created an attachment (id=6706) [details] > Message log file > > Log includes crash log from previous. .... I meant to say it mentions the log, but it's not included.
Are you running SBS from this card, or logging to it? In my experience these two would keep the card busy for too long, requiring another try. But from what I've seen it's not the media, but what you're doing with it. Steven mentioned file sharing too: if you're accessing the share from your computer, it might make the unmounting fail.
No share, no logging. SD card completely full with MP3 music tracks. Probably trying to create database on it.
(In reply to comment #4) > No share, no logging. SD card completely full with MP3 music tracks. Probably > trying to create database on it. Oops ... ignore this comment. My guess is that the timeout for SD eject is too short. By the time the second attempt is made, it works because enough time has passed. But just guesses, of course.
Mickey notes that he means 1 retry, not 2 retries
TinySC will not be updated any more.
