Description Cory Nielsen 2010-03-23 08:45:46 UTC
For testing, I have a SB Boom that has been connected to both Squeezebox Server and test.mysqueezebox.com. When the unit is connected to test.mysqueezebox.com, the Front Panel controls are disabled, and I am forced to use the remote to control the device. If I connect the player to SBS instead, the front panel becomes active. I have attempted a factory reset, but the pattern persists.

I could not reproduce this. This Boom does work okay with a local 7.5 server?

What is its MAC address? I will go in and remove it from the test admin pages and we can try again.

It does work okay with my local 7.5 server.

The MAC address of this particular unit is 00:04:20:1e:c7:4b. It currently displays as registered on the test and live admin pages.

Deleting the unit from my accounts (both test.mysqueezebox.com and mysqueezebox.com) and re-registering it after a factory reset seems to have fixed the problem. I will keep an eye out for this behavior resurfacing as I continue testing.

There is a preference in SbS under 'remotes' to disable the front panel buttons, and that preference gets synced to MySB. However, MySB no longer has a UI for this setting, so some confusion is possible.

My theory is that this boom's setting got changed by accident or cosmic rays.
Comment 5 Cory Nielsen 2010-03-26 10:29:26 UTC
I know I had changed the remote settings during previous SBS/SB Boom testing, then uninstalled and reinstalled SBS (several times). I'm guessing the remote setting was saved to mysb.com, and when I reinstalled SBS they displayed as default (all enabled) but that didn't get synced to mysb.com.

Andy, should we just remove this preference from the list of synced preferences if we're not going to provide a UI for it?
