for the radio.

Tried both my Radio remote and Boom remote (which btw are the same )
And my SB3 remote.

With my SB3 remote i can adjust volume smoothly

With any of the mini remotes i can only adjust the volume in increments off 1.

Tried against my local sbs.

My server is this:

Hi Mikael

I assume your SB Boom is using the latest firmware available which is 50, could you please confirm? Also could you confirm the board revision?

Press and hold left to disconnect from SC, then go into 'Current Settings', then scroll down until you find firmware revision. Also go into 'Current Settings' - 'Factory Test' and check the board revision, please.

Did the mini remote never work with your SB Boom or did that behavior start with a particular firmware revision?

BTW: I tried on two SB Booms myself (both fw 50 / board rev. 0026) and both work fine with the mini remote so I am not sure what is wrong with yours.

Thanks
Felix

Firmware is 50 confirmed.

Bord revision in BOOM is "00 28"

Board revisions om my mini remotes

I peeled of the cover completely on my remotes:

On my old Boom remote circuit board I have "BOOM PA31 2008-06-18"
On my new Radio remote circuit board I have "BOOM PA2 2008-03-24"

Both have this sticker:

M/N: X-IA3
PID: WD839XM
P/N: 815 000039

I run latest 7.5 embedded

Bith mini remotes can control the volume of my SB3 continuously

My SB3 remote can control volume on boom and radio continuously
Comment 3 Mikael Nyberg 2010-03-19 01:39:02 UTC
Hard to tell when it started as I have an SB3 remote a controller and a universal remote the mini is rarely used
Comment 4 Mikael Nyberg 2010-03-19 09:24:21 UTC
I rebooted the BOOM then the problem disappeared that's good.

But now we have nothing to fault-trace ?

Felix you knew that this was a workaround do you have any clues on what the problem is :-)

Shall this bug be confirmed or go in under the carpet again.

I end user I assume that i have very limited resources to log something that occurs inside an "old" player

Please leave the bug as it is. QA will pickup unconfirmed bugs automatically and then QA can decide what to do with it.

I read in the forum thread that someone 'fixed' it by rebooting SB Boom. And no I don't know what would cause this issue.

I just ran the following test:
I have 2 Boom "mini" remotes.
Tried with Radio (SBS V7.5.0, Radio FW 7.5.0-r8594). Still does the 1-2 increments on Volume, and everything else.
Tried SB3 remote on Radio, works correctly.
Tried BOTH Boom remotes against Boom, and it worked correctly (Boom FW 50).
HOWEVER, tried my Boom mini-remotes against my SB3. The SB3 only increments 1 step. This is for volume, selecting artists, etc. In other words, the SB3 exhibits same behavior with Boom remote as the Radio. SB3 is running FW 130.
Should I create yet another bug on this, or can the SB3 issue be included on this one?
Comment 7 Mikael Nyberg 2010-03-19 22:07:10 UTC
..and the SB3 is cured by rebooting it too, I tested that.

wonder whats triggering the problem, I could adjust the volume of my SB3 just fine with the mini remotes yesterday, but this morning only with tiny increments

OK... when I rebooted my SB3, it now works correctly with the Boom remote.

Same to my boom, some weeks ago! After a reboot of my boom, everything was ok, til now!
I'm using 7.4.2!

I'm seeing this too, it started with one of the later builds of 7.4.3 and exists for 7.5.0 right now

Ok, after rebooting my SB Boom a 3rd time the problem went away....

Same thing here!
Server 7.5.0 Boom Firmware 50.

Just noticed today that Volume goes only one step after holding volume pressed on the remote.
After reboot ok.

Hi!
I have the same problem - but only with one of my two booms. Board revision is 00 28 too (both).
After a disconnect and reconnect the scrolling is working fine.
I have had this problem some months ago. Now its coming home ;)

I can confirm this bug with sbs-version 7.5.4, tested with two different booms.
