Currently the logging system is only good for 'nice' cases. 
For complicated ones, there are two shortcomings:

- the log file is too short and gets overriden quite fast
- on a reboot (or crash) the old logfiles deleted and started new.

For the first one there is a workaround (https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15444#c43) but the second is really nasty.

Sometime my radio gets in a state where it looses its network connection where only rebooting helps. All logs are lost then :(.
