Description Kevin Pearsall 2005-05-19 13:53:33 UTC
it will just say Connecting to SlimServer... then ask for a firmware upgrade,
because it's picked some random SlimServer on the network (that i've never
connected to since i've set up the player)...

just showed this to dean by resetting a player to factory default, then
connecting to squeezenetwork, signing off... that time it just stayed at setup.

but then i couldn't get it to connect to SN, so i rebooted it. and when i
signed off after this second occurance it connected to john's machine.

Kevin: is it still doing this?
Comment 2 Kevin Pearsall 2005-06-14 10:56:44 UTC
nope seems to go to the setup menu now. nice.

Was this explicitly fixed by you Dean in the firmware? If so, close the bug?
Comment 4 Vidur Apparao 2005-06-30 13:23:04 UTC
This is still probably an issue if:
1) The SB2 hasn't otherwise been associated with a SlimServer instance.
2) There are multiple SlimServer instances on the network.

In this case, signing off SN chooses the first visible SS.

Not a problem that most of our customers will see.
Comment 5 Kevin Pearsall 2005-07-05 16:19:30 UTC
might as well mark this fixed at this point. the behavior isn't nearly as bad
and certainly wouldn't be considered critical any longer.
Comment 6 Blackketter Dean 2006-02-16 08:00:11 UTC
This is a firmware issue. In the case that there's no server associated, the user should be back in setup.

If any user is still seeing this problem, let us know and we may reopen it.
