Firewall

Opening Windows firewalls I see the Squeezebox server listing many ports in the
range of 9000-10000 see attachment. All ports in that range have UI in
parenthesis, does that mean if I open more than one instance of the browser to
access the SB server I get a new port?
If that case what happen to port 9000, it also listed as UI but we also use
that port for streaming?

Version: 7.4.2 - r30215

Yes, that's not the best solution there is. The problem is we can only do this at installation time (only then can we be sure the application is run with all the permissions needed). But SBS will change the port it's using if there's a conflict with any other application at startup. This was done at support's request.

We could probably reduce the number of ports by assuming we'll rarely have that many conflicting ports open, only trying 3 of them instead of the dozen.

Osama, is this actually an issue for some users, or are you just raising it as a concern? Thanks.
