Exclude subfolder not possible ! Please Help !
Last modified: 2010-04-07 22:40:52 UTC
Good evening. Using the SB for ages now. One huge issue annoys again and again. Focus on the album view of the SqueezeboxServer or playing with Apps like IPeng or new apps for the ipad. All apps have one thing in common. They all need a well-cleaned and structured database without any untagged or non-tagged non-music-audio-files. This approach will help: People need a possible way to exclude a subfolder from the Scan-Library? One does not want to see any of the non-music-audio-files within the search results, while still beeing able to start them manually over the "browse music folder" or let say "folder-walk" Example: here is an audio-structure: /audio/artist/album /audio/newmusic /audio/nomusic/audiobooks/... /audio/nomusic/kids /audio/nomusic/learnings The Feature-Request would be like: APPROACH-I: to give the sbs the scan-path : /share/audio and the exclude-path : /share/audio/nomusic APPROACH-II: to give a scan-path: /share/audio/music and a different entry-point for the "folder-browser-path" like: /share/audio the target result of both ways would be to have a scan-library only filled with true music-audio-files while beeing able to browse the complete world of audio-folder and files with the "brows audio files" then - our SqueezeboxServer-World is almost perfect !!!! Fanx in advance for your help - and fanx for all the years with streamed music. SB obviously enriched my life ! johannes ::: TS-239 pro II, SS-7.4.1, SSOTS-4.2, 2* SB Classic
I would love to see this seemingly simple feature added. Because I actively manage the structure and tag information of my audio files (i.e., iTunes does not get to touch my collection.) I have all my audio under a single music folder. This includes audio that is yet to be tagged and processed or even listened to and deemed worthy of addin to my collection. It also includes audio I would never want available to SqueezeBox Server, but would want to use with other audio devices (e.g., iPod, mobile phone, computer). The ability to exclude a subfolder (or two) under my main Music folder is a feature I have been hoping would appear in every release since I bought my Squeezebox 2 so many years ago.
