I would appreciate to be able to acces, navigate and play an SMB network share that Iva in housem without the need to get a new nas just for SBB.

Also Upnp support would be great

boom doesn't have the cpu power to do standalone music scanning.  requires MySB, SbS or the new SB Touch which can support it's own music library.

upnp is covered in a number of other bugs.

All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform.
We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or
which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.
