Description Mikkel Herold 2010-02-27 16:05:00 UTC
Sometimes when I attach a pair of mini-speakers to the headphone mini-jack on the Controller and use it for playback, it mysteriously loses the connection to my wireless network after a while.

This wouldn't be so bad if I could just reconnect and resume playback, but when it happens, the Controller at the same time becomes completely unable to connect to my network - and I can have my laptop sitting right next to it and connect to the same network without problems.

No matter what I try, it won't connect, and often it will not even find my network SSID.

The problem seems to solve itself after about 1-1½ hours of waiting - then, all of a sudden, the Controller can find and connect to the network again, and everything is okay.

The only other solution that I have found is to reset the Controller and start from scratch, but even that doesn't always work, and it's a hassle to have to set up the Controller the way I want it all the time.

I wish I could be more specific about when this problem occurs, but I can't. It seems to happen out of the blue, although always after I have been playing for a while (1+ hours).

What could be causing this? And can I do anything to debug when it happens?

i experience this problem just last night. after coming out of suspend mode for about 24 hours, i was able to use it to turn on the receive and make it play from my pandora account. after about an hour, i picked up the controller to change the station and it responded by giving the "please wait" message with the spinning circle. it took quite a while for the screen to get out of this "please wait" stage. but then it still isn't connected to my wifi network. it seems as if the controller lost wifi functionality altogether in my case. when it happened, i tried to re-do the network configuration. the first symptom is that it doesn't see any ssid that i know are being broadcasted at the moment. i choose to hide my ssid, so it's not a problem that i don't see other people's. i manually configure it to connect to mine wifi and it keeps on saying that it cannot connect. this, along with the fact that it doesn't see any broadcasted ssid's tells me that wifi connectivity is malfunctioning.

the only way i got it to reconnect is to reset to factory settings and begin the setup process all over again.
