Description Kurt Poulsen 2010-02-24 11:12:41 UTC
I did the following

1) Stopped SBS
2) Edit the server.prefs file and changed cachedir to d:\SBSCache
3) Started SBS which now starts and adds a lot of directories to D:\SBSCache
4) Stopped SBS
5) With the WHS Console I now deleted the cache directory.
6) When I checked with Explorer in WHS the old cache directory is deleted but D:\SBSCache is not touched.
7) Tries to start SBS but it just hangs and I have to terminate it with the task manager.

Two things are wrong here:

1) The MySQL cannot live without the original cache-directory= It does not care what server.prefs says
2) The WHS console deletes the wrong cache-directory.

WHS 1.1 is EOL.
