Description widhalmt@widhalm.or.at 2010-02-24 06:31:48 UTC
My Squeezebox Radio starts to reboot and keeps rebooting when I try to play certain .m4b Audiobook files.

My Information:
Version: 7.4.2 - r30215 @ Mon Feb 22 12:40:30 PST 2010
Hostname: ****
IP-Adresse des Servers: ***.***.***.***
Server-HTTP-Portnummer: 9000
Betriebssystem: Mac OS X 10.6.2 - DE - utf8
Plattformarchitektur: x86_64
Perl-Version: 5.10.0 - darwin-thread-multi-2level
MySQL-Version: 5.0.22-standard
Anzahl erkannte Player: 1

I had the same problem with previous Versions.

I tried without success:
* Editing convert.conf, so it would convert m4b like aac files
* Playing only m4b files without bookmarks (command "file" on audiofile shows whether there are bookmarks)
* Installed lame (Webinterface tells me, installation is ok)

The Webinterface of the Squeezebox server shows the file playing, but let me switch the track only when the Squeezebox Radio is reachable. The Squeezebox itself shows Title Information but no artwork. Plays no sound and reboots after some secondes. When I don't stop Squeezebox Server, cut it off the network or change the playing track (as mentioned only possible short after a reboot of the Squeezebox) it keeps rebooting.

Logitech Support tells me this issue corresponds to some kind of buffer overflow when playing aac files. I can't confirm or negate this.

By now I have not found any connection between m4b files I can play and those I can't. Only thing is that sometimes I file I could play in the past is now unplayable. I never saw the reverse case where I could play tracks I couldn't before. But I just did a few tests. (about 40files where about 25 are unplayable)
