Description Mini 2010-02-16 10:51:48 UTC
Hello,

Upgraded to 7.5 the other day - since then the separate volume setting for an alarm no longer works and the alarm will sound at whatever the 'normal' volume setting is. If this is mute then no alarm sound

I noticed this alarm volume problem this morning too.

SB3 in bedroom, alarm volume is set to 100. Alarm went off this morning, but the volume was low, because I had been playing music at the low volume late the previous day.

i.e. the volume did not change back to 100 when the alarm went off this morning.

I think this bug therefore probably applies for all types of player, and should be assigned to Squeezebox Server product?

I cannot reproduce this. It seems to work fine both with and without fade-in enabled. I get the configured alarm volume, regardless of what the playing volume had been before.

I meant to say, testing with r30129.

Are you using this with MySB or a local server? We cannot reproduce this here.

Local 7.5 SBS - I have only used the alarm on my radio and this has had a firmware update since which i suppose might have fixed it - I'll test it again tonight.

But Philip says that he has the same problem with an SB3.
Comment 6 Philip Meyer 2010-03-09 23:52:22 UTC
I have tested again on a SB3 and a Boom.

The alarm played at the volume specified for the alarm volume player preference, so that seems to be working again.

If I stop the alarm (eg. power off and then power back on), the player volume is returned to the volume that was being used before the alarm sounded.

Could this be a problem that some people are seeing? If they acknowledge the alarm and continue playing music, it returns volume to pre-alarm volume setting?
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2010-03-15 09:20:00 UTC
Alan notes that there was a situation for a few hours in which the Alarm volume setting was completely broken, so that is certainly possible that some people saw that.

It seems like okay behavior to me that the volume should return to what it was before the alarm after a power off and on. If anyone feels otherwise, put in a comment about it.

If anyone is still seeing the original symptom, I'd like to hear from you as well.

In the absence of further comments, assuming this is fixed.
