Description Michael Herger 2010-02-14 21:56:52 UTC
"Now Playing" is only meant to be there in the remote UI, not in touch mode.

Ben - I'll probably assign this back to you if I get stuck.

I don't see it in Touch mode, but I also don't see when I use a remote either (configured Remote skin in small mode).

Fixed Bug: 15705
Description: remove Now Playing menu item when skin doesn't want it.

Phil - please note that the NP menu item is a function of the skin, not whether you're using remote or touch UI. That would be a separate enhancement.

The first comment on this bug report says "Now Playing is only meant to be there in the remote UI, not touch mode". I think what you are now saying is that "Now Playing" is only meant to be there in Large Text Skin, not Small Text Skin.

I have configured my Touch to use "Small Text Skin" as my Remote Skin, and I don't see the Now Playing option in the menu.

If I select "Large Text Skin", I get the "Now Playing" option.

That's just a little bit confusing - why should small or large skin change the menu options that are presented?

If that is the case, I'd suggest (for now, until it's changed to be a function of the input mode), changing the skin names so Small=>Touch, and Large=>Remote, because it's a bit misleading as it stands now.
