Bugzilla – Bug 15646
OFF screensaver of Image Viewer won't go away when press Play
Last modified: 2010-04-08 17:25:18 UTC
Setting OFF screensaver to Image Viewer and PLAY screensaver as clock will not switch to play screensaver. Reported by CAT on Touch. Steps to reproduce: Set When Playing screensaver as a clock and When Stopped screensaver as Image Viewer display images from a SD card. Start playing music and then pause. Wait 20 sec for Image Viewer to activate. Once Image Viewer is on press Play to get music going and Image Viewer will not turn off. CAT PR2-0105
Reproduced with firmware r8459
This sounds like a dupe of bug 15631: the ImageViewer's wake behaviour is broken. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 15631 ***
different issue than I thought
What I'm seeing is that the screensaver thinks it was woken up when the first image changes. But still the soft power state seems to be confused about it's real state. This can have various unexpected side effects. I'd assume the missing play is just one of them. For whatever reason some events get propagated even if the ImageViewer is consuming them (POP/PUSH of windows).

Make sure screensavers are more reliably recognized as such. - always animate slideshow, even if there seems to be only one item: many of the remote screensavers (flickr, facebook) only return one item per request
