A DHCP client should check (via ping or arp) whether the IP address it gets from a DHCP server is already in use and if yes decline that IP address and ask for a different one.

This bug has been marked fixed in a released version of Squeezebox Server or the accompanying firmware or mysqueezebox.com release.
