Bugzilla – Bug 15509
Losing presets
Last modified: 2011-11-06 23:24:58 UTC
Hi guys I'm sure you don't consider this as major ... but I do, as without presets working, the device is too hard to navigate for simple radio channel access. I know from google that many have had this problem over an extended period and nothing seems to be being done about it. I have a a new Boom which is using a new install of SB Server on a MediaSmart (also new). The MediaSmart was bought to replace a QNAP which I used with my SB3 which didn't support new versions of the software. I love all components ... but was hit by presets I put in for Radio 4 etc disappering over night (all of them). I'm not sure if anything else happened (eg HomeServer updates over night ... are possible) ... but basically ... I set them again and it's been fine for the last 3 days. I need to know this is reliable. By the way ... as I say ... the SB3 and Boom are superb ... I'm a happy customer ... I just need solid evidence that something is being done for a problem that appears to have been dropped up until now. Paul.
Michael - is that a new one or the one you fixed recently?
This sounds like a different issue. The one we had was all mysb.com based. Paul - what's those channels' urls? Where do you find them?
Paul?
Hi guys Radio 4,1, Capital and two others just disappeared. Sorry about delay in replying. Paul
Paul - can you give me the stream's url? How would I find and play it? Please attach your server.log file to this bug too (see Settings/Information in the web UI)

Paul - could you please give us the stream's url? See my comment #5.
Hi guys All I did was use the BBC iplayer plug in to select the station mentioned and hold the preset button down to store. I haven't had this happen since so you can probably close. Bit of advice though. I'm running on windows home server on a MediaSmart EX490. I installed Squeezebox server directly easter than as a plug in. The MediaSmart is now indicating a plug in version is now available. Do you think I should uninstall and install the plug in ? Paul
Similar issue here - lost my original presets when I cam to use the Boom today. Some of the presets did have a station in them - looked like random stations from my favourites list for the player. A couple of presets were empty. When trying to reset the presets via a long press of each preset button, only the empty ones accepted the currently selected station - the others didn't accept the change to the presest (nothing happend on long press of the preset button). Eventually managed to change each preset by first adding the stations to Favs, then navigating to the Favs menu item on the Boom, navigated to the required station (didn't press the jog dial - just got the station name displayed), then long pressed the desired preset button and it worked. Oddly though - the preset buttons all seem to work normally now, and I can change them all to any displayed station. Running SBS 7.5.1 - r30836, on a TS-109II (QNAP QPKG, all default). Wondering - does the preset save function write something to the player prefs file on the local SBS? My QNAP TS box is on permanently but the HDD does sleep - could this be contributing?
