Description Vineet Khandpur 2010-01-20 05:25:03 UTC
Win 7 x64 re-install after hard drive failure. System also acts as a file server for a Network Media Tank Popcorn Hour A-110. Downloaded latest SB server to install. Installation proceeded normally. Set to run at system start up under Local System account.

After starting SB server, retired to the living room to watch a movie using A-110. Movie froze, Squeezebox 3 lost connectivity. Returning to office, Win 7 server lost network connectivity, although NIC maintained IP address. Disabled then re-enabled NIC, network came back up cleanly. Attempted to stream again to A-110, again, NIC lost connectivity. Restarted machine and disabled SB Server (from SB control panel .. which in turn also stopped MySQL server). Video streaming then works properly.

Previous Win 7 installation was same set up, although I can't remember which version of SB server was running. Never experienced any issues before.

Exact same set up as before with one major exception. Hard drive failure due to use of Intel 'fake RAID'. Previously 4X 1TB in RAID 5 using Intel ICHR9 RAID. System rebuilt using Windows Dynamic Disks with 4 X 1TB in a striped configuration [and purchase of a 2TB external USB 'lifeboat'... backup backup backup!!]. That's the only difference between old build and current (other than version of SB server).

My bad.

When I re-installed, Microsoft had an updated driver for the motherboard NIC. Rolled the driver back to the original, network issues disappeared. Sorry, should have realized that before I put the bug in. Please consider the matter closed.
