Description Julius Dauz 2010-01-15 16:07:49 UTC
This issue may be out of our control, but thought to file the bug for the customer in case we can fix it on our end.

When streaming an internet radio station, sometimes the metadata is present, Song title/artist name. Sometimes it isn't. Even from the same station on a different day.

When the metadata is present, it will only display the first song/artist, then when the music changes, the metadata doesn't. I tested and was able to reproduce this with "The River" station listed below.

To further exemplify the inconsistency, today, when testing this station on SBS, there was no metadata at all, just the station name. To make things even stranger, I connected to MYSB.COM, and play the same exact station, "The River" and it still had the metadata from the first song that played on that station when I played it on my SB3 yesterday. To make sure, I cleared the playlist and reselected that station, and still, the song title/artist from yesterday still displayed.

I have been able to reproduce this issue on IP3K players. I tried to reproduce it on an SP player, but the station I reproduced the issue on with an IP3K player yesterday didn't have any metadata included today.

Here are the three stations the customer states she experiences this issue with on her Boom. The first is the only station I tested with.

We can increase the priority if this seems more important than I've marked it.

Not a critical issue, but it is annoying. Would be nice if it could be fixed. One of the advantages of the Squeezebox is having information about the songs that are playing, even on the radio

I am experiencing the same problem on a radio. Usually it displays the station icon OK most of the time but not always. But it almost never displays the other metadata like artist name and song title which is very annoying since I like to use the amazon app to remember new songs I like.

Absolute Radio in the UK is the station I listen to 99% of the time. And most of that time is a night when I got to bed (my computer is shut down) as I have a slow internet connection.
