Alarm starts when Controller starts up

After the latest firmware upgrade (7.5.0-r8337) I get this behaviour every time
I restart the Controller:

1) The Controller is selected as player (regardless of which player was
selected upon shutdown)

2) An alarm starts (i.e. music starts playing) on the Controller, despite me
not having set up any alarms in SbS (see attached screenshot)

I have disabled all alarms in SbS, but the alarm still goes off.

Also, my applets are no longer functioning. They show up as installed, but they
don't work, and reinstalling does not help. The applets in question are Custom
Clock, Daylight Clock, and Lyrics Display.

this was fixed last week...reopen if you still see the issue after updating firmware to newest
