when playing a song from 'My Music', the FWD button has no function when pressed the first time to start forward 'winding' (press and hold). when released again and press and hold again the FWD function is properly started and the 'winding' starts.
the same behavior when skipped to the next song and the FWD key is pressed and hold the first time again. second press and hold initiates 'winding'.

identical behavior for the REW button

I can reproduce this.  The little ffwd display pops up, but it doesn't move any faster than the music is already playing.  Only on the second press do you get the 'fast' in fast forward.

Ben, I'm taken aback that nobody noticed this until now.  Will it be at all risky to fix for 7.4.2?

just tried it on 7.5.4 r9408, first press not faster at all, second press keeps playback at same speed but the time into the song fast forwards.
so partially solved ;-)
