Description Ryan 2010-01-06 17:27:42 UTC
With two of the units running Battery trickle down test.
The units had been in Standby mode and on wall power and the Battery had discharged.
Wall power was removed and then the The batteries were removed for capacity testing and recharged external to the units.

With wall power disconnected the partially Charged batteries were installed, then wall power was applied. The units powered up and the charge indicatior indicated the batteries charging.

Attempted to put the unit in to STANDBY MODE/SOFT off (quick touch of power). The unit would not go to standby mode.
Power was cycled to the unit several times with and with out the battery installed. There was no change to the standby function.

I alloweed the battery to fully charge. Standby mode still did not function.

Finally I performed a factory reset Standby stll did not work, but after cycling power press and hold power for the goodby message. When powered up the Standby function was restored.

This i mostly something to be aware of going forward when we fix the Battery and charging code.

This is likely another symptom of the RTC backup failure
