?????

I reinstalled r 29082 on another machine without clearing the settings and a new scan works fine, so the problems start somewhere between 29082 and 29707....

7.5.0 r29738 also broken for me.
Comment 2 Michael Herger 2010-01-08 04:10:13 UTC
please enable all scan.* debugging, re-trigger a full scan, then post the scanner.log

which one would that be? the file last seen on the scanner.log or the file that isn reported on the gui?

The music store is scanned fine by an earlier version of 7.4.2 ??

Let's try looking at the last file in the log before the crash, that's usually the one.

48 bytes, is that really the correct size of that file?

It's not the original size of the file!!!!

I've deleted it from the music folder and the scan has completed satisfactorily!!

I'll do a scan with my "production" server and report back.

One miserable fishing file causes all that bother!! Any Idea what the problem was?
Comment 11 Andy Grundman 2010-01-08 08:12:57 UTC
Not sure, I will see if I can reproduce. It shouldn't crash but merely skip this file.
Comment 12 Andy Grundman 2010-01-08 08:50:59 UTC
OK I found it, this crasher was already fixed but the fix hasn't made it into SBS yet. For reference it's this bug: https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=52932

great, I am glad you solved my problem. Sorry to have added to the issue. The scan works again on 7.4.2 r29707.

The weird thing is the damaged fie has been in the music folder for months if not longer.

Thanks again for your interest and patience,

Mike
