So did 7.1... but 7.1 do not work in Win7...
This error only shows in "Home/Music Folder" not when you go to the actual
folder.

What browser are you using? I have been seeing these exact symbols when viewing various web pages the last few days. Sometimes a Refresh will get rid of them, sometimes not.

I believe this is a browser issue, not an SB Server issue.

Just to be clear are you saying ä/å/ö display properly under "Home/Artists" or "Home/Albums" and not under "Home/Music Folder" in the web browser?

I suspect that this may be a browse music folder issue and possibly a dupe.

Hi again Steven
I am very sorry to say, but in all, except two, areas the latest version sucks compared to 7.1. I really do appreciate your efforts making a good software for the Squeezebox but the last version is too flawed. The interface, functions and general behavior is still among the best on the market and I have good hopes for ver. 7.5 :-)
The two positive sides?
1 - It work under Windows 7 (strange that 7.1 doesnt as it work under Vista)
2 - It can handle 192 kHz files even if it downscale to 48kHz. Version 7.1 play 192k files with half the speed... This is no big deal for me as I only have one or two albums of that kind.

For example, today I jumped to letter R in my list. It took 2 m 50 s to get there, When checking the log I notice the program has scanned my album covers again. I have noticed that after adding an album or two, it can take minutes to reach them or other already present albums. The 7.1 do not have this behavior, it just took a slightly longer time to reach a newly added album, but it did not affect the rest.

When I rescan my entire collection (15.000+ albums) it stops when it "melt collection albums together" (or something, it is presented in Swedish...). The 7.1 never stopped, it always worked. Earlier, my friends often complained over the software, said it was too many bugs. I never understood that as it worked perfectly well for me - until I switched to Win7 and had to install 7.4.

Regarding the sorting problem, it is not a new thing with the Win7 compatible 7.4, it came already with earlier versions (but I cant recall if it was with 7.2 or 7.3).

Yours / Bjarne

Failure around the "merge various artists albums" most often are due to
some antivirus locking access to your database (if you're on Windows).
Best known for McAfee and Microsoft Security Essentials. Please upload a
scanner.log if this doesn't match your system.

Just to make it clear. It is not a browser issue. I have compared ver 7.1 and later versions in Vista with IE8, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. They all behave the same. That is, 7.1 sort correctly, 7.4 (and 7.2, 7.3) does not. I have done the same test in Win7, 7.4 do not sort correctly wether I try IE, Firefox, Chrome or Opera. If I run virtual XP in Win7, the 7.1 sort perfectly well. Sad enough I cold'nt get the network working in the XP mode.
