scanner log from 7.4.1 scan with lots of "Unable to read tags from file" errors

I am getting lots of errors in the scan log and lots of files missing after
upgrading to 7.4.1 and also with squeezeboxserver_7.4.2~29536_all.deb on a
debian testing distribution x86_64.

This was working fine for me in 7.2.1.

I have attached my scanner.log

$ perl -v
This is perl, v5.10.1 (*) built for x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi

Let me know if there is any more info that I can provide or if you need one of
the files to test.

Thanks,

Tim

FYI Some of the 1st files in the scan look a bit odd because they were converted from m4a to ogg, using ffmpeg, so that they would play on a portable player that I own.

Please try with the 7.4.2 nightly. http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.4

new log from nightly build still showing errors

Better, but still not quite there.

It seems to have done a much better job on the scanning: it failed to scan any of my wife's Pulp songs before, which it has done now, but it didn't pick up any artists at all: 909 albums with 9806 songs by 0 artists.

I did a full scan and this seemed to fix the artists.

I have edited some of the tracks that were reporting errors with kid3, e.g. Orbital - Tootled, but this is still giving an error - see the attached log.

There is also a SQL error at the end of the log which doesn't look too good.

Can you please upload one of the files that fails to scan?

After some testing this error seems to be caused by a missing track number in
the tags.

Ignore this - I must have been looking at a different log file. :-S

Thanks,

Tim

Can you try again with the latest nightly?
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2010-04-08 17:26:45 UTC
This bug has been marked fixed in a released version of Squeezebox Server or the accompanying firmware or mysqueezebox.com release.

If you are still seeing this issue, please let us know!

I wonder if this was ever actually fixed. Can you run a full 'clear & rescan everything' type of scan with the latest release version of 7.5? Let us know if you still see these errors with any ogg files.

Just re-tested (sorry about the delay) and all seems fine.
