Example file affected by the bug

Ubuntu 8.04 Server, Squeezeboxserver 7.4.1

Some time ago the squeezecenter was replaced by squeezeboxserver. I updated to
the last version (7.4.1). After that change/update, from many of my flac files,
the album and artist meta data are ignored. This results in a lot of songs
appearing in the "No Album" section. Before the update, all of these songs
correctly appeared under the right album and artist.

I attached an audio file that has the album and artist metadata in it, but is
showing up under "No Album".

I already did a complete rescan of my music library.

Any ideas or suggestions?

The sample file (other attachment) can be found in the scanner.log:

server.log

Probably does not have to do anything with the problem i reported, but there are some error messages in server.log. Just in case that helps.

Please give 7.4.2 a try. This should be fixed: the scanner wasn't correctly reading id3 tags in flac files.

Thanks. The 7.4.2 version is in the debian testing repository. Is this considered reasonbly stable? Otherwise: when is it expected to get into the stable repos?

7.4.2 is the bugfix only branch of 7.4.x. It should only have stable bug
fixes. That said 7.4.2 will never be released, as we're working towards
7.5, to be expected early next year.

Great. Installed 7.4.2 and indeed the problem is solved.
Thanks.
