Description Michael Herger 2009-12-04 04:55:59 UTC
Trying to select a library I only get the spinny, then "Try again".

Jan  1 01:21:57 squeezeplay: INFO   applet.ChooseMusicSource - ChooseMusicSourceApplet.lua:644 connectPlayerToServer() Player {Squeezebox Touch} SlimServer {Touch me now}
Jan  1 01:21:57 squeezeplay: WARN   squeezebox.player - Player.lua:1756 No method to connect Player {Squeezebox Touch} to SlimServer {Touch me now}
Jan  1 01:22:17 squeezeplay: WARN   applet.ChooseMusicSource - ChooseMusicSourceApplet.lua:630 Timeout passed, current count: 21
Jan  1 01:23:11 squeezeplay: INFO   squeezebox.server - SlimServer.lua:314 Touch me now firmware=http://update.mysqueezebox.com/update/firmware/7.5.0/fab4_7.5.0_r8156.bin force=false
Jan  1 01:24:13 squeezeplay: WARN   net.thread - NetworkThread.lua:146 network thread timeout for Task(SocketHttp {SqueezeMyWHS_Request}(R))

(Sidenote: Interestingly it would see available firmwares, but not download them, even though force=true)

Some more information: despite the player's failure to accept it's connected to a server, it actually is. I can control it using the server's web ui, play music etc.

SlimDiscovery.lug settings seem to be causing this issue:

settings = {
  playerId="00:04:20:22:00:5b",
  serverUuid="9d2c9f90-0244-4bbd-ab33-855b84618cd2",
  currentPlayer="00:04:20:22:00:5b",
  serverInit={
    mac="00:1b:63:03:a6:40",
    ip="192.168.0.6",
  },
  squeezeNetwork=true,
  playerInit={
    name="Squeezebox Touch",
    model="fab4",
  },
  serverName="MeiBuch"
}

That mac address happens to be the on of a fab4 player at my parent's home. It's got the same (default) player name as mine after I factory reset it. While player names shouldn't be used for anything as a key, I wonder whether this caused some confusion. Clearly these two players have never been in the same room or on the same network.
